Accident:An unexpected or unplanned event often leading to injuries and destruction of properties.
Health:a state of complete, mental and social well-being to an individual and not merely the absence of disease or infirmities.
Hazard:any harmful substance or conditions, which is likely to endanger human health or cause ecological impact.
Environment:The total surrounding of man including land, sea, air, water those factor within, which are capable of producing a positive or negative impact on human health.
Industry:A business organization, which is involved in the production, sale and distribution of goods and services.
Safety:Means in general sense, is a state of being free from injuries, risk and harm causing conditions. Safety means all the deliberate precautionary measures or actions taken by workers in the place of work to avoid accident and avert being harmed.
Raw material: These are substance used in the production of other good that could be consumed.
Safety education: The process of impacting and acquiring skills in accident prevention in human environment. The application of health knowledge, attitude and skills for safe and effective living.
Control:According to the Oxford Advance Learners Dictionary means power authority to direct, order or restrain.
Occupation:This means sincere engagement to earn a living.
Prevention:The act of forestalling the occurrences of hazard of disease.
Personal protective equipment [PPE]: This refers to the external protective wares of the body with the use of materials e.g. clothing, rubbers, etc. especially made and designed to cover the intended part of the body. It also encompasses substance e.g. oil specifically formulated to act as a protective layer when applied.
Safety policy: These are laws derived from human past experiences to save the future for instance, an accident had occurred before and its cause turned out to be no use of PPE, a policy could be made to avoid working without PPE hence preventing death through accident.
