Definition of Terms Associated with Poor Drainage System

1.   Drainage: The process by which water or liquid waste is drained from an area.

2.   System: An organization set of ideas or theories or a particular way of doing something.

3.   Flood: It simply means a large amount of water covering an area that is usually

dry.

4.   Environment: This is the condition that affects the behaviour and development of somebody or something, the physical condition that somebody or something exists.

5.   Health: The condition of a person’s body or mind.

6.   Sewer: These are underground pipe that is used to carry sewage from houses, factories etc.

7.   Implication: A possible effect or result of an action or a decision.

8.   Accumulation: It is to gradually increase in number or quantity over a period of time.

9.   Pathogen Organism:These are organisms that are capable of causing diseases e.g. bacteria, fungi, virus, hermits, etc.

10.  Water Borne Diseases: These are diseases that are associated with contaminated water.
